The tour begins in the central area of Lanzarote with a visit to the Monumento al Campesino, one of César Manrique’s most symbolic works.
Built as a tribute to the island’s farmers, this striking white monument stands in contrast with the surrounding volcanic landscape. It celebrates traditional agricultural life and highlights the resilience of local communities who adapted to the island’s harsh conditions.
This stop offers a meaningful introduction to Manrique’s vision of harmony between culture, nature, and sustainability.
We continue north, passing through traditional villages such as Teguise and Haría, offering a glimpse of Lanzarote’s local life and landscapes.
The tour then reaches the spectacular Mirador del Río, located over 400 meters above sea level on the cliffs of Risco de Famara.
Designed by César Manrique, the viewpoint is perfectly integrated into the volcanic rock and almost invisible from the outside. Inside, panoramic windows reveal breathtaking views of La Graciosa and the Chinijo Archipelago.
A truly iconic location where architecture enhances the natural landscape.
Next, we visit the Jardín de Cactus, the last great work completed by César Manrique.
Set in a former volcanic quarry, this botanical garden hosts more than 7,000 cactus plants from over 1,100 species.
The circular design and volcanic structures create a unique visual harmony.
Free time for lunch at a local restaurant (not included).
Approx. cost: €15 per person.
One of Lanzarote’s most famous attractions, Jameos del Agua is a volcanic tunnel transformed into a cultural space.
Inside, you will discover an underground lake, lava formations and architectural elements designed by César Manrique.
The site is also home to a rare species of blind albino crabs.
Important: bathing is strictly not allowed.
Final stop at the artist’s former home.
Built into solidified lava flows, the house is an extraordinary example of integration between architecture and nature.
The interiors preserve original living spaces within volcanic bubbles, offering insight into Manrique’s life and philosophy.
