The tour begins with pick-up from your accommodation or cruise ship port, followed by departure at 10:30 or 16:30, depending on your selected time. Accompanied by your guide, you will explore the island from a more authentic and local perspective.
The first stop is at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking Mykonos Town, one of the most iconic photo spots on the island. From here, you can admire the whitewashed houses, the coastline, and the deep blue Aegean Sea—an ideal introduction to Mykonos’ beauty.
The journey continues to Agios Ioannis, a charming and peaceful fishing harbor. Named after a small chapel dedicated to Saint Ioannis, this area holds historical significance and is still used by local fishermen. Its sheltered position protects it from the strong northern winds, creating a calm and picturesque setting.
Next, you will drive past Mykonos Airport, where you can enjoy a unique view of the runway. With a bit of luck, you might witness a plane taking off or landing, adding an unexpected and interesting moment to the experience.
Leaving the coastal area behind, the tour moves inland toward the Ano Mera region, the agricultural heart of the island. Here, the landscape changes completely, revealing cultivated fields, small farms, and domestic animals—offering a glimpse into traditional Mykonian life.
You will then arrive at Ano Mera Village, the island’s main traditional settlement. Its lively square is surrounded by local tavernas and small shops, giving you the opportunity to experience the authentic rhythm of everyday life away from the tourist crowds.
In the center of the village, you will visit the Panagia Tourliani Monastery, a historic religious site dating back to the 16th century. Inside, you can admire intricate wood-carved details, religious icons, and a peaceful spiritual atmosphere that reflects the island’s cultural heritage. (Entrance fee: 2€ per person)
