Discover the underwater world of Syracuse with a Discover Scuba Diving experience in the Plemmirio Marine Protected Area. Guided by certified instructors, you’ll enjoy your first scuba dive in the calm Mediterranean waters while exploring marine life, underwater caves and Posidonia seagrass meadows.
The experience also includes a scenic sailing trip aboard the vintage sailing boat Perseide, making this activity a perfect introduction to diving in one of Sicily’s most beautiful marine environments.
MEETING LOCATION:
Departure from Manca la Granita in Ortigia (Foro V. Emanuele II, 1, 96100 Siracusa SR) Check Map
Please arrive 15 minutes before departure.
The experience begins from the historic island of Ortigia, the heart of Syracuse. From here you will sail toward the protected waters of the Plemmirio Marine Area.
Enjoy a relaxing sail along the dramatic cliffs of the Costa del Gigante, known for its crystal-clear waters and hidden coves.
Before diving, participants start with a short snorkeling session in shallow water to become familiar with the equipment and breathing techniques.
Guided by certified instructors, participants dive to a depth of up to 8 meters for approximately 30 minutes, exploring the seabed of the Plemmirio Marine Protected Area.
Observe caves, Posidonia meadows and Mediterranean marine life such as colorful fish and other sea creatures.
After the dive, relax on the boat while sailing back to the departure point in Syracuse.
